Photo Remarks
On display at the National Museum of the U.S. Air Force. Converted from the Sikorsky CH-3, the Jolly Green Giant was intended for combat search and rescue over Southeast Asia. It had a retractable fuel probe and external tanks giving it high endurance, as well as armor protection, defensive armament and a rescue hoist. These helicopters performed many rescue missions with distinction.
