Ryanair FR5883 diverts after bird strike following departure from Norwich

Ryanair flight FR5883 from Norwich to Malta, operated by Malta Air Boeing 737 MAX 8-200 9H-VUV, diverted to East Midlands Airport on 8 September 2026 following a bird strike shortly after takeoff. The crew squawked 7700 and entered holding patterns before landing safely on runway 27 at East Midlands Airport at around 10:00 local time.
