Remark

  • "Lulu-Belle" on display in the Jet Aviation exhibition at the National Air and Space Museum. Designed by the famous Clarence L. "Kelly" Johnson, this aircraft was produced in only 143 days during World War II in Lockheed's 'Skunk Works', flying on Jan. 8, 1944. Also called the "Green Hornet", it was the first USAAF jet to exceed 500 mph in level flight. The design led to the P-80 Shooting Star.
