Photo Remarks
On display in the Vertical Flight exhibition at the Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center, National Air and Space Museum. Lawrence Bell saw a market for the helicopter as a personal means for Americans to move around after the war. Along with Arthur Young and Bartram Kelly, Bell produced the Model 30 Genevieve, which flew in 1942. This helicopter led to the Model 42, which was a failure, followed by the highly successful Model 47 that was used by the U.S. Army in Korea.
